Field Director for New York Congressional

[NY Congressional Campaign]

*Position:* Field Director sought for a targeted rural, upstate New York Congressional Campaign. THIS IS A SENIOR STAFF POSITION.  Responsible for building all aspects of field infrastructure of the campaign, including: hiring and recruiting field staff and volunteers, setting and achieving program goals, training staff and volunteers, providing daily progress report to campaign manager from petitioning stage to persuasion through GOTV. The Field Director will report directly to the Campaign Manager and Candidate. Position is currently open, and all applicants must be willing to re-locate to the district by no later than February 21st, 2016. 

 

*Field Director Responsibilities:* 

 

· Design and execute a comprehensive, data-driven field plan focusing on three phases: petitioning, persuasion and GOTV.

 

· Maintain and manage the field program budget in collaboration with the Campaign Manager

 

· Set and exceed benchmarks for: petitioning, voter contact, volunteer recruitment, grassroots engagement, and GOTV

 

· Recruit, train and manage a staff of campaign organizers.

 

· Manage the campaign voter database (VAN)

 

· Maintain a professional campaign culture with an emphasis on building out best practices based on conditions on the ground and accountability to goals and metrics while having a good sense of humor. 

 

· Able to adapt and find creative ways to maximize programs efficacy.

*Field Director Qualifications:*

  

· Applicants must be highly organized and have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced campaign environment

 

· Preferred, two cycles of field experience at the federal level, including staff management.  But if you're a hungry FO who is ready for the next step, impress me.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

 

· Strong ability training and producing high performing organizers and volunteer team members. 

 

· Votebuilder proficiency (VAN), including database management and excellent staff and volunteer training skills. 

 

· Detail-oriented with an ability to be self-accountable. 

 

· Ability to manage an accountability structure for program as a whole and for individual staff and volunteer team members. 

 

· Strong leader with proven ability to motivate staff to exceed goals. 

 

· Ability to meet deadlines on multiple concurrent tasks.
