SEEKING RESUMES: Deputy Director

The Colorado House Majority Project is the campaign committee for the Colorado State House Democratic caucus. HMP works towards securing a Democratic majority in the Colorado State House of Representatives.

HMP is accepting resumes for a deputy director during the 2016 cycle. The House Majority Project offers a competitive salary and generous benefits package.

The Colorado House of Representatives has a Democratic majority and a successful hire will be able to capitalize on our past successes to ensure that we run quality campaigns to retain and expand our majority this cycle. This position requires a strong background in legislative campaign management, communications, field and fundraising.

Overall Responsibilities

Our deputy director needs to be able to work with candidates, partner organizations, vendors, campaign staff and volunteers to design, oversee and execute campaign plans in targeted legislative districts, manage large scale and logistically challenging paid communications programs, raise large budgets for HMP and campaigns themselves, understand how to read a poll and utilize research and data to target voters, and hold managers and candidates accountable to daily, weekly, monthly, and cycle-long goals. Candidates should be adept at Votebuilder, have the ability to work without direct supervision, set priorities and ensure that key details are overseen without error.

This is a senior-level staff position who will report directly to the HMP Director and Legislative Chair. The ability to think critically, analyze information from multiple viewpoints, and work effectively under tight deadlines is required.

 Qualifications

·  2+ cycles of campaign experience, preferably in a director/manager role.

·  Staff-management, hiring, and training experience.

·  Good writing skills and the ability to work with vendors to create, edit, and technically proofread communication materials.

·  Experience working directly with candidates and campaign managers.

·  Willing to work long and often irregular hours.
