Tracker / Research Assistant - Colorado Democratic Party

Tracking is a vital part of campaign research that provides the Democratic Party with critical information about Republican opponents’ public appearances, speeches and statements. Trackers/research assistants will monitor the GOP candidates' schedules in order to attend all public events, film and record events, and transcribe audio and video footage collected during public events. The tracker/research assistant will work closely with the communications, digital, and research teams on rapid response to hold the GOP candidates accountable.
Responsibilities Include:
- Searching for, cataloging, and sharing details of events/tracking opportunities
- Confirming event details, candidate attendance, and getting technology ready for events
- Filming or audio recording each public event
- Preparing memos and uploading footage the same day as the event
- Transcribing footage within 24 hours
- Researching and filming other politically relevant events
- Recruiting, retaining, and managing a network of volunteers
- Assisting the communications, research, and digital operations as needed
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Initiative to work independently and follow through on all projects
- Excellent time management, planning, troubleshooting and communication skills
- Ability to perform duties under pressure
- Flexibility to travel at short notice and availability during evening and weekend hours
- Excellent writing skills and highly detail oriented
- Familiarity with video editing
- A reliable car to get to and from events
- Passion for campaigning and politics and a drive to help elect Democratic candidates
This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits. Salary commensurate with experience.
This position is based in Denver, CO with extensive travel throughout the state.
This position will be funded through June 30, 2018 with the potential for an extension through the 2018 general election based on performance.
