Job Title: Field Organizer
Location: Eagan, MN
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Field Organizer is responsible for helping to execute the
campaign’s organizing plan in communities across the district. You will
recruit, train, and manage volunteer leaders in your assigned region or
community to help build a large grassroots campaign. Your main focus will be
volunteer recruitment and development and voter contact. This will be done both
in regional offices and with neighborhood organizing teams.
This position falls within the Organizing Department. You will
report to the Field Director.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Recruit and
train strong volunteer team leaders. You will work to develop the skills
of team leaders to be organizers themselves. You will train them on skills
ranging from phone banking, to data entry, to door knocking,
to recruiting other volunteers.
- Ensure you are
meeting your voter contact goals by recruiting volunteers for
regular phonebanks and neighborhood canvasses.
- Establish and
maintain relationships with key stakeholders in your assigned districts.
- Participate in
voter contact work in your assigned region.
- Maintain
databases and do data entry when necessary.
- Maintain records
and give regular updates to your supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned
and directed by campaign leadership.

- Experience with
training and / or community or political organizing.
- A competitive
spirit geared toward meeting and exceeding goals.
- Strong
interpersonal skills.
- An ability to always
be professional, calm, and collected in all circumstances.
- Ability to
handle multiple projects at once.
- Ability to meet
short deadlines, while keeping long term objectives in mind.
- Must be a
self-starter, and be able to work independently and as a part of a team.
- Willing to work
irregular hours including nights and weekends
