The Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee (DLCC) works to win state legislative seats and chambers for Democrats. The DLCC’s mission is to build and maintain winning, state-of-the-art campaign committees through a continuing partnership with legislative leaders, professional staff, and supporters.   POSITION: Research and Policy Outreach Coordinator The Research and Policy Outreach Coordinator works with our communications team to produce strategic, high-level political research and writing to support the DLCC’s communications, political, finance, and outreach operations. This position reports to the National Communications Director.  Duties include:   ·        Investigating legislation, issue positions, campaign finance materials and public records. ·        Fact checking reports, memos, presentations, and other documents. ·        Executing the organization’s strategic outreach to policy organizations and resources. ·        Writing briefings, blog posts, press releases, and other materials. ·        Monitoring and clipping press coverage about state legislative sessions, politics, and campaigns. ·        Managing the organization’s social media presence. ·        Providing support for communications operations. ·        Other duties as assigned.    Minimum Qualifications: ·        Excellent research and writing skills ·        Strong attention to detail ·        Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint ·        Knowledge of Lexis-Nexis and media monitoring ·        Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively ·        Ability to work collaboratively as a member of our team Preferences: ·  At least one year of research experience ·  Background in state politics a definite plus but not required ·  Experience in maintaining strong relationships with external stakeholders
