Hello!

I'm reaching out again from the Progressive Talent Pipeline, a program (housed under Demand Progress) to identify, endorse, train, and recommend a diverse slate of committed progressives for staff roles in Congress and government agencies.

In response to some exciting late June and July events and growing interest as folks learn about the program, we’re excited to announce that we’re opening a 2nd deadline for the Progressive Talent Pipeline 2024 cohort! Apply here by Sunday, August 4, 2024!

(If you’ve already applied - thanks! Applications submitted by the June 30 deadline will receive priority consideration from the PTP team)

Progressive Talent Pipeline will be at the Netroots Nation conference July 11-13 in Baltimore. If you’ll be there, come say hello and join us for our panel, “Progressive Talent Pipeline: Building the Bench of Progressive Talent” on Saturday, July 13 at 1:30pm. (Register with this URL to get a 10% discount!)

Feel free to spread the word by forwarding this email, or sharing on LinkedIn (here), X (here), Instagram (here), or Facebook (here).

Working in government is one of the most strategic ways to impact policy-making and shape the national political discourse, but there isn't always a clear entry point for potential staffers who don't already have insider connections or training in the workings of Congress or the federal government.

We created the Progressive Talent Pipeline in 2018 with a vision of bringing new perspectives, expertise, and energy into government in order to “build the bench” of progressive staff talent and advance progressive priorities and policies. Since then, more than 230 of our endorsed candidates have secured employment in Congress or the executive branch.

The Progressive Talent Pipeline endorses candidates of all experience levels – whether you’re just starting out, transitioning from another profession, a mid- or senior-level policy or communications professional looking to work in a government role, or a current government employee looking to take the next step. This cycle will prioritize individuals that are ready for full time roles by January 2025, including recent graduates and students graduating in December 2024.

You can find out more about the program (including more information about various staff roles and the typical salary ranges for them) at: progressivetalentpipeline.org
