Field Organizer


Val Hoyle’s campaign for Oregon’s 4th Congressional District seeks passionate Field Organizers to help execute a voter and volunteer outreach program in a must-hold Frontline seat for House Democrats. Organizers will be responsible for recruiting, training, and managing volunteers to expand the volunteer network for the campaign and execute a variety of voter contact tactics to turn out voters for Democratic candidates.


This role reports directly to the Field Director and is based in Eugene, Oregon. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis, but to ensure consideration please apply by July 28th.


Responsibilities Include:

  • Recruiting, managing, and training volunteers to participate in direct voter contact, including but not limited to door-to-door canvassing, high traffic canvassing, phone banking, voter registration, and relational organizing.

  • Executing a broad range of visibility events to educate voters about the election and excite potential volunteers to join the campaign.

  • Successfully meeting daily, weekly and phase goals for capacity building and voter contact in your assigned district, as well as maintaining data integrity.

  • Developing strong relationships with local party leaders, grassroots organizers, and key activists.

  • Other department responsibilities as needed.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Organizing experience is preferred, but not required. Knowledge of VAN, Mobilize, and Google Docs/Sheets. Familiarity with peer-to-peer texting, relational, and dialer tools.

  • Detail oriented self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience recruiting, developing, training, and empowering volunteers.

  • Strong ability to build relationships and foster a positive team culture.

  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and in team settings, willingness to work irregular hours.

  • Enthusiasm for working in an organization with a culture of respect, empowerment, and inclusion.

  • Connection to and/or willingness to relocate to the district is required.


COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Salary: $4,500 per month

  • Benefits: Healthcare stipend available
