Keystone Organizing is a minority-owned, Pennsylvania-based strategic organizing and grassroots mobilization firm that provides paid canvassing, community organizing, voter registration, and signature gathering services to campaigns, committees, and advocacy groups, both in Pennsylvania and throughout the country.

Position Title: State Operations Director

Reporting Structure: Reports to the Head of Operations

Rate of Pay: The salary range for this position is $72,000 - $90,000 depending on experience and skill sets.

Job Classification: Full-time, exempt
Schedule: Full-time (40 or more hours per week, and can reach 70+ hours at peak times)

Location: On-site

Benefits: Keystone Organizing offers all full-time employees who remain with our team for more than three months full health care, dental, and vision benefits. Any job-related travel, lodging, and other expenses are paid for by Keystone Organizing.

Role Description

Keystone Organizing is seeking talented, driven individuals for the role of State Operations Director, who will be responsible for overseeing the operations of canvassing, voter registration, and relational organizing projects throughout the country.

The State Operations Director will work with project leadership and with the Keystone Organizing National Operations team to manage the program’s administrative, operational, human resources, and supply needs.

The State Operations Director will report directly to the Project Director. This role is in-person throughout the duration of an assigned project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily and long-term project operations needs, often including multiple offices located throughout a region or state

  • Manage a team of regional, in-office Operations Associates

  • Work with the Project Director and the National Operations team to implement and maintain robust human resources and operations processes for the program

  • Work with the National Operations team to manage project-specific payroll records for all employees through the Paycom platform

  • Ensure an efficient allocation of supplies and resources throughout the program

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of management, operations, or administrative experience

  • Ability and willingness to work a demanding schedule, which can reach 70+ hours per week at peak times and can be expected to include evenings and weekends.

  • Must possess a cell phone and laptop

  • Must have ready access to personal transportation and will be required to provide proof of driver’s insurance

  • Must be able to travel and/or relocate to project locations across the country on short notice; travel, lodging, and other related expenses are provided by Keystone Organizing

Plus Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage a growing and complex organization's operational needs

  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities

  • Highly detail-oriented and able to manage multiple processes simultaneously

  • Ability to think and act creatively and flexibly in a fast-paced and sometimes high-pressure environment

  • Familiarity with Google Suite, ATS, and HRIS software is preferred

Essential Physical Requirements

  • This position may entail other travel.

  • This position requires vision/hearing abilities.
