Job Description:

Lead Data Engineer - Oracle EBS/PLSQL/ODI/Azure Data Factory

Dallas, TX

6+ months

 

Rate: $60/hr on C2C

 

Must have: Oracle EBS, PL/SQL, Enterprise Data Warehouse, ETL, Azure Data Factory/Enterprise Data Warehouse

 

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing data migration solutions from Oracle to Azure Data Factory. You will be responsible for leading data integration and transformation initiatives, utilizing PL/SQL, Oracle EBS modules, and Enterprise Data Warehousing technologies. In addition, you will support and enhance reporting capabilities using Cognos PI and Power BI.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Data Migration & Integration:
• Lead the design and execution of data migration strategies from Oracle databases to Azure Data Factory.
• Develop and optimize PL/SQL packages for efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
• Work with Oracle EBS modules to ensure seamless data integration with Azure services.
• Manage and maintain data pipelines, ensuring data integrity and performance optimization.
• Enterprise Data Warehouse & ETL:
• Oversee the development and maintenance of Enterprise Data Warehouses (EDW) using Oracle and Snowflake.
• Implement ETL processes on Oracle databases, ensuring efficient data transformation and loading.
• Collaborate with data architects and business analysts to align data warehousing solutions with business needs.
• Reporting & Visualization:
• Utilize Cognos PI and Power BI to design, develop, and deploy comprehensive reporting solutions.
• Ensure data models and reports meet business requirements, providing actionable insights to stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership in the enhancement of existing reporting tools and processes.
• Technical Leadership & Collaboration:
• Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, providing guidance on best practices and emerging technologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality data solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues, ensuring system reliability and performance.

 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on Oracle databases and Azure Data Factory.
• Expertise in PL/SQL, Oracle EBS modules, and ETL processes on Oracle databases.
• Experience with Enterprise Data Warehousing (EDW) technologies, particularly Oracle and Snowflake.
• Proficiency in reporting tools like Cognos PI and Power BI.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead and manage complex data projects.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

 

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in the healthcare or retail industry.
• Familiarity with cloud-based data solutions and big data technologies.
• Knowledge of data governance and security best practices.
