Role: Database Architect
Location: Philadelphia, PA

Duration: 6 Months
Rate:: $55/Hr


Database Architect will perform the following tasks on the Oracle platform, and equivalent tasks on other DBMS platforms including mySQL, MS SQL Server, Teradata, Vertica, etc.:

•      Ensure proper monitoring and capacity planning framework is in place
•      Monitor Database Capacity and assist in growth estimations
•      Review database and SQL performance as part of the development lifecycle and provide support in resolving issues
•      Review physical data models, data access patterns, and database design as part of the development lifecycle
•      Review weekly database capacity and performance reports ensuring ongoing health of database design.
•      Provide a final health checks as part of database deployments to ensure that database is ready for release, this will include
            - Database structures (e.g. indexes, statistics, etc)
            - Ensure proper capacity and performance of (e.g. memory, CPU, disk space, and I/O performance)
            - Ensure proper database configuration parameters, i.e. Oracle init.ora
            - Ensure monitoring criteria and thresholds is properly setup

Location: Philadelphia, PA

Rate:: $55/hr

Data Architect will:
•      Guide the development of enterprise data strategy for both event based data and enterprise business data.
•      Be responsible for the design, structure, organization, and maintenance of all data and related design artifacts.
•      Integrate project-level data models into the enterprise model. Develop and maintain target Logical Data Models and Data Flow Architecture for the various lines of business within the organization.
•      Be responsible for developing and maintaining standards for naming, describing, governing, managing, modeling, storing, cleansing, and transforming all data within the enterprise.
•      Assist the data modelers and database architects in data modeling and database design.
•      Develop best practices and guidelines for physical database design based on features and functions of targeted database platforms including Oracle, mySQL, Vertica, MS SQL Server and other database appliances.
•      Identify data integration opportunities and propose solutions. Evaluate, recommend and select data and database tools & utilities. Identify and implement best practices, tools and standards (e.g. ER modeling, normalization, data security, etc).
•      Develop and maintain the vision of local and enterprise grid level roadmap for performance technology.
•      Develop and maintain the vision and roadmap for large scale (e.g. peta-bytes) data management.
