Description: FOCIS Associates, Inc. is seeking a Senior Web/Application Developer to support our operations in Edgewood, Maryland. FOCIS adds a new dimension to GEO-CENTERS’ decades of services and products that it has provided to government laboratories, private corporations and academia.
FOCIS brings in-depth expertise in the development, evaluation, design and implementation of chemical process technologies and related environmental control systems.
Fundamental to FOCIS’ success is the ability to (cost effectively) create practical solutions that satisfy client needs in the areas of:
Technology research, development, testing and evaluation. Operations improvement. Technology commercialization and business opportunity assessments. Project implementation.
Excellent opportunity for an IT professional with 8 to 12 years of experience. Demonstrated ability to plan and execute the development, creation and implementation of sophisticated information management tools. The ideal candidate will be able to interface with a group of Scientists and Engineers and the information management tools required to manage, store, manipulate and report the results of a variety of technology Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) programs.
Applicants will be required to demonstrate superior management and communication skills in all of the following areas:
(1) Development and implementation of complex web-based client- SQL server database management systems;
(2) Evaluation of workflow and business operations to identify opportunities for automation;
(3) Presentations to clients in the use, features and value of program specific data management tools;
(4) Project/Task Management of 2-4 person teams
(5) Preparation of clear and concise user manuals and system documentation.
The successful candidate must demonstrate:
Mastery of data-centric .NET web development integrating both server side code and client-side scripting.
Efficiency in C# and at least two of the following additional languages: Transact SQL; XML; Java Script.
Willingness and ability to integrate, share, and stretch their current skill base.
Further consideration will be given to candidates with the following:
Experience in developing Microsoft Sharepoint Portal Server web parts.
In-depth knowledge of the SharePoint Portal Services Object Model.
Experience in developing web-based application for the US Army or Department of Defense.
The position requires a BS Degree or above in Computer/Information Management or Engineering discipline, an independent self-starter with outstanding leadership skills and proven organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple and changing priorities. This job requires the ability to work closely with the user community to develop interfaces that are efficient, intuitive and foster collaboration in and among the user community. Therefore, in addition to the skills listed above, presentation layer skills are a plus. Travel is required.
