Role: Product Manager (Salesforce)

Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid)

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with client leadership to define goals for agency operations and communicate these goals to technology vendors
  • Work closely with key client stakeholders and external vendors to capture detailed needs and requirements including writing and prioritizing user stories
  • Manage the overall product management milestones and artifacts, including prioritizing backlog, triaging and expediting features and functions while communicating this to the vendor and development teams.
  • Ensure successful implementation by identifying opportunities for standardization in coordination with internal client stakeholders and the implementing team/vendor(s)
  • In partnership with Technical Architect, ensure client digital offerings are aligned with and leverage broader EOTSS and EOED technology capabilities, policies and architectural standards.
  • Set a vision for how the Salesforce instance will meet client’s needs now and into the future, keeping abreast of future Salesforce technologies and services that will enable future enhancements to the client digital offerings.
  • Recommend how technology will be used to support and enable client’s needs short-term and as they change over time, ensuring business needs and technology resources are in alignment.
  • Become the expert on client’s software application to drive decision-making, ensuring that all stakeholders are aware of the capabilities and limitations of the software, options, risks, and costs related to technology changes.
  • Drive toward a productive and meaningful User Experience (UX) balancing user needs with what’s technically feasible and sustainable. Manage vendor relationships including coordinating with technology vendor(s) to define requirements and use cases that will inform feature development, ongoing enhancements, and break/fix work.
  • Ensure that use cases, business requirements, and demos articulate and/or represent business processes and desired outcomes.
  • Engage in User Acceptance Testing, review and interpret feedback, update or create stories to align with findings where applicable.
  • Support administrative and end users in using the software. 

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of professional experience
  • Demonstrated success in a role with similar responsibilities, for example in IT, in the private sector, or public policy/government (preferred).

 

Additional Qualifications:

·       Experience managing a software product including end-to-end product development and leading a team.

·       Experience with managing an application or product in a Salesforce environment or Salesforce administration.

·       Proven ability in both waterfall and agile product management and technology delivery methods. Understanding of agile milestones and ability to facilitate all aspects of the agile and/or waterfall methods of product management.

·       Strategic thinker, adept at independently surfacing and evaluating problems accurately, even with incomplete information. Can drive progress on resolution with minimal oversight, displaying sound judgment, including measurement of risks and timely escalation.

·       Ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders, senior managers, front-line leaders and employees at all levels.

·       Ability to generate very strong product plans and build buy-in across the team, our government partners, and other contractors.

·       Ability to define a product objective, and logically reverse engineer the path and communications to achieve the objective.

·       Experience leading discussions to ascertain the needs of a business or agency and its users, and ability to capture and communicate integrated business and technology requirements using non-technical language.

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical, user experience, and project management trade-offs.

·       Experience with contract management and vendor interaction in delivering large-scale products or web services.
