Position: : Quality Assurance Analyst (Jr. QA Tester/Analyst)

Job Overview
The Quality Assurance Analyst is
responsible for developing and establishing quality assurance standards and
measures for IT services within the organization.
Under broad supervision, the Jr. QA
Tester/Analyst will support the execution of the test lifecycle deliverables
following standard methodologies and procedures to ensure successful
implementation of the Test Strategy and Test Plan for the Georgia Department of
Transportation.
This is a contract position intended for
long-term engagement; however, it is subject to annual budget approvals. The
initial contract runs through the end of the current fiscal year and is
anticipated to be renewed on July 1, 2026.
Work Location
- Atlanta, Georgia (Local candidates only)
- Hybrid work model (2 days onsite)
Key Responsibilities
- Perform testing of custom-built applications
- Conduct testing of GIS (Geographic Information Systems)
components
- Create and document test plans, test cases, and test scripts
- Execute test cases, analyze results, and report defects and
anomalies from a business user perspective
- Work within an Agile framework to support testing
requirements
- Collaborate with business partners, PMO, and vendor technical
teams to understand requirements
- Ensure testing activities are completed on time and according
to plan
- Identify risks, issues, and bottlenecks and communicate them
to management
- Support Business SMEs and Business Analysts in developing UAT
scenarios based on test cases
- Prepare UAT instructions and facilitate/oversee UAT
activities
- Participate in defect triage meetings and project demos
- Provide weekly status updates to the QA Testing Lead
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related
field
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in software testing within
development projects
- Experience working on mid-scale or large-scale system
development projects
- Experience with test automation, test strategy, test
planning, and execution
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
and Agile methodologies
- Ability to review and analyze system documentation including
business and technical requirements
- Experience in manual and/or automated testing
- Experience in creating and maintaining Requirement
Traceability Matrices (RTM)
- Experience in documenting test cases and evaluating test
results
- Ability to prepare test data for execution
- Experience supporting and validating User Acceptance Testing
(UAT) readiness
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving
skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams including
developers, architects, and business analysts
