Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Firewall Engineer with strong expertise in Palo Alto Networks and Check Point firewalls to design, implement, manage, and support enterprise network security infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for firewall configuration, policy management, troubleshooting, and ensuring secure network operations in a multi-vendor environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, deploy, configure, and manage firewalls using Palo Alto Networks (PAN-OS, Panorama) and Check Point (R80.x, SmartConsole).

Configure and maintain security policies, NAT rules, VPN tunnels (Site-to-Site & Remote Access), and security zones.

Perform firewall rule reviews, optimization, and cleanup to maintain compliance and improve performance.

Implement advanced security features such as IPS/IDS, URL Filtering, App-ID, Threat Prevention, Anti-Malware, and SSL Decryption.

Monitor firewall logs and security events; investigate and respond to incidents.

Perform firmware upgrades, patch management, and vulnerability remediation.

Configure and troubleshoot IPsec VPNs, GlobalProtect, and Check Point VPN solutions.

Support high availability (HA), clustering, and failover configurations.

Integrate firewalls with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) for centralized logging and monitoring.

Conduct periodic access reviews and compliance audits (SOX, PCI-DSS, ISO 27001).

Work with network, cloud, and security teams to support hybrid environments (on-prem & cloud).

Document firewall architecture, network diagrams, and SOPs.

Provide Level 2/Level 3 support for firewall-related issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in Network Security / Firewall Administration.

Hands-on experience with:

Palo Alto Networks firewalls (PA series, Panorama)

Check Point firewalls (Gateway, Management Server)

Strong understanding of:

TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF)

VLANs, NAT, ACLs

VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL VPN)

Experience with firewall migration and rule-base optimization.

Knowledge of cloud firewall security (AWS/Azure security groups, NGFW in cloud).

Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem Management).

Preferred Certifications:

Palo Alto Certifications (PCNSE / PCNSA)

Check Point Certifications (CCSA / CCSE)

CISSP (preferred)

CCNP Security (optional)
