Position: : Software Engineer II (.NET Full Stack Developer)

Location: Austin, TX - Hybrid

Duration: 4 Months

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer II to support application development initiatives for the Texas Department of Agriculture. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining web-based applications using modern Microsoft technologies. This role requires strong full-stack development experience, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively in an Agile environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain web-based and client/server applications
  • Develop front-end and back-end components using C#, .NET, Blazor, HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and work with databases such as SQL Server and Oracle
  • Perform root cause analysis, troubleshoot issues, and implement effective solutions
  • Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and cross-functional teams to gather and validate requirements
  • Participate in Agile SDLC processes including sprint planning, development, and reviews
  • Maintain and enhance existing applications to ensure performance, scalability, and reliability
  • Document technical designs, code, and processes
  • Support deployment and ongoing maintenance of applications

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in web-based application development
  • Strong experience with:
    • .NET / C# development
    • HTML, CSS, JavaScript
    • SQL, Stored Procedures, SQL Server, Oracle
  • Experience in debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
  • Hands-on experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the SDLC
  • Familiarity with tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Blazor framework
  • Experience migrating applications from Java to .NET
  • Knowledge of responsive web design principles
  • Familiarity with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
  • Experience in mobile application development using .NET technologies

Work Environment

  • Onsite role in Austin, TX (Monday–Friday, standard business hours)
  • Occasional after-hours or weekend support may be required
