Summary
We are
seeking a skilled Software Engineer II to support application
development initiatives for the Texas Department of Agriculture. The ideal
candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and
maintaining web-based applications using modern Microsoft technologies. This
role requires strong full-stack development experience, problem-solving skills,
and the ability to collaborate effectively in an Agile environment.
Key
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain
web-based and client/server applications
- Develop front-end and back-end components
using C#, .NET, Blazor, HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript
- Write and optimize SQL queries, stored
procedures, and work with databases such as SQL Server and Oracle
- Perform root cause analysis,
troubleshoot issues, and implement effective solutions
- Collaborate with business analysts,
architects, and cross-functional teams to gather and validate requirements
- Participate in Agile SDLC processes
including sprint planning, development, and reviews
- Maintain and enhance existing applications
to ensure performance, scalability, and reliability
- Document technical designs, code, and
processes
- Support deployment and ongoing maintenance
of applications
Required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science,
Information Technology, or related field
- Minimum 4+ years of experience in
web-based application development
- Strong experience with:
- .NET / C# development
- HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- SQL, Stored Procedures, SQL Server, Oracle
- Experience in debugging,
troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
- Hands-on experience working in Agile/Scrum
environments
- Experience collaborating with
cross-functional teams throughout the SDLC
- Familiarity with tools such as Azure
DevOps, Jira, or similar
Preferred
Qualifications
- Experience with Blazor framework
- Experience migrating applications from Java
to .NET
- Knowledge of responsive web design
principles
- Familiarity with Web Content
Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
- Experience in mobile application
development using .NET technologies
Work
Environment
- Onsite role in Austin, TX (Monday–Friday,
standard business hours)
- Occasional after-hours or weekend support
may be required
