PURPOSE OF THIS ROLE:
This summarizes the overall purpose of the role - how it adds value:
- The Information Security Risk Assessor will provide advisory, consultancy risk assessment services to the Business units in order to improve the security control environment and minimize the risk and impact of information security threats and vulnerabilities
- The role holder will work with Risk Assessment team lead to provide divisional information security support. They will work closely with and influence key senior Management across the divisions, whilst developing and maintaining relationships and providing information security advice and guidance in line with information security policy standard
- The Information Security Risk Assessor will perform risk assessments of internal and external information security threat environments, including applications, infrastructure, business processes and environments
- The role holder will understand, prioritize and assist with developing and implementing solutions for divisions to reduce and close Information Security gaps between risk appetite and current risk position
- The role holder will use their in-depth Information Security experience to understand and advise on identification and management of Information Security risks and mitigation in relation to technology environments
- They will be a key member of  M&IB Americas Information Security team and will be involved in Threat Management Groups and Information Security incidents relevant to their respective division
 
Required experience:
Following are the essential experience:
- Strong information security experience with past hands-on technical experience; experience working in information security
- Strong information security consultancy experience applying analytical skills and Industry knowledge
- Strong relationship management experience in working with and influencing internal functions; experience building relationships with key business leaders and senior customers within Technology
- Experience working within complex global organizations
- Experience with ISO 27001/2 framework and interpretation
Following are desirable additional experience:
- Technology control framework experience including commercial best practices such as COBIT and ITIL
- Experience with and understanding of regulatory requirements for IT/IS
- Experience with application development frameworks, technology architectures and IT development skills
- Experience working within financial services industry or understanding of an investment banking environment
