Location: Byron Bay, NSW
Salary etc: $55-65,000 pro rata + standard entitlements (4 weeks annual leave, sick leave & 12% superannuation)
Australian Wetlands Consulting (AWC) seeks a graduate practitioner with minimum of 2-3 years' experience in environmental consulting / management.
Qualifications Required:
*Science Degree
Essential Skills Required:
*Ecological assessment, including:*flora and fauna surveys
*identification of threatened species and communities
*vegetation mapping
*general site assessment
*High level of reporting
*Working knowledge of relevant NSW, QLD and Commonwealth environmental legislation
Plus experience in any one or more of the following:
*Riparian rehabilitation
*Wetland management
*Catchment management
*Aquatic ecology
*GIS mapping
*Water Sensitive Urban Design / Integrated Water Cycle Management
*Application of statistical methods
Daily and Regular Duties:
*High level of technical reporting and co-coordinating and participating in fieldwork.
*Client liaison, effective use of budget managing for profitability and managing subcontractors. Ensuring our expectations of quality and performance are met for all projects.
*Routine administration tasks including accurate timesheets and invoicing projects on 28th of each month
Key Selection Criteria
*Degree in a relevant area, or an equivalent combination of training and/or experience.
*High level of reporting, research and analytical skills
*Demonstrated field skills in ecological assessment, particularly native vegetation.
*High level of communication and negotiation skills, including demonstrated capacity to deal effectively with a broad range of people both internal and external to the organisation.
*Knowledge of safe work procedures and OHS training relevant to work activities and work area.
*Current drivers license
