Position: Enterprise Storage
Location: West Chester, PA
Duration: 6+ month contract
Senior Storage Contractor – Enterprise Storage
Duties and Responsibilities
· Heavy concentration on designing, building, testing, tuning and implementing highly available storage-related hardware and software for an enterprise storage environment
· Participate on projects, work with a project team and proactively communicate status to the project manager with an appropriate sense of urgency while providing quality deliverables
· Identify and collect appropriate metrics to monitor storage systems to maintain availability and performance requirements
· Contributes with security team to ensure system security in areas of encryption, access, and other compliance areas
· Verify adequate capacity and performance exists to meet anticipated workload requirements, make recommendations to improve the environment as necessary
· Create and edit documentation for the storage environment
· Shares knowledge and mentor QVC staff members
Specific Job Knowledge
· Design, administration, configuration, and support of Enterprise Storage Environment (Pure, EMC, Brocade)
· Possesses a good working knowledge of various technologies such as Virtualization of Storage and Servers, Linux, Network, Client Server, Mainframe, Storage, UNIX, Messaging technologies, and scripting/programming
Qualifications
· Bachelors’ degree required in Computer Science, Information Science or related field of study, or equivalent years’ experience
· Experience working in a corporate environment with mission critical business systems that supports a e-commerce and broadcasting environment
· Experience working with tight project schedules for installing, monitoring and troubleshooting hardware, software, and applications running in a multi-tier environment
· Experience with Disaster Recovery is desirable
· Experience with International support and deployment is a plus
· Excellent written and verbal English communication skills are required
· Ability to work individual contributor as well as a project technical lead; excellent collaboration abilities
· Understanding of working in an Agile (Kanban/Scrum) environment
· As required, work any shift/extended shift and participate in an on-call support rotation
