Job Description

Technical PM J2EE:

We are looking for a Technical Project Manager to support our Head-end Software Engineering team. This is an opportunity to work with a world class team at the forefront of innovation and technology.

As a PM in this team, candidate will work with highly skilled individuals who have been shaping the satellite and broadband content delivery in the US for years and have now only just started venturing into Latin America, bringing with it, expertise unrivalled in the industry.

The role shall involve interfacing mainly with Business teams and System Architects, Software development, QA and Operations teams working on broadcast head-end systems, to drive new feature additions and enhancement projects to completion.

 Day to Day Functions:

·         Gather product information, analyze business requirements, drive creation of specifications (functional and technical) and develop high level and low level technical design.

·         Participate in meetings with business, engineering and operations teams. Work with System Architect teams to present designs, provide recommendations, suggestions.

·         Coordinate research and analysis (market research, competitive analysis, technical assessment and evaluation)

·         Work closely with multiple development teams to define, select and architect products & services that require significant cross component coordination.

·         Coordinate component and system-level testing of software components prior to release as well as production tests for product launch.

·         Work with Operations teams on successful launch and production support issues after launch.

Familiarization with the following technologies:

·         J2EE:  In-depth understanding of Web services and SOA architecture.

·         HTTP Adaptive Bitrate video:  In-depth understanding and some working experience. 

·         Video:  General understanding of video distribution and OTT services.

Nice to Have: 

·         Understanding of Key Process and Quality standards like ITIL, ISO as well as Agile methodologies.

Qualifications:

·         Requires BS in related discipline (i.e., Computer Science, Information Systems) and 3-5 years of experience in related field (i.e., Network Engineering, Satellite / Broadband Video Delivery)

·         Overall 10+ years with a minimum of 3+ years Project Management experience.
