Description:
DevOps / automation related projects. Linux and Chef is a must. Amazon / AWS is highly preferred, as they will be involved in cloud-based projects (ie. moving apps residing on Akamai to AWS). Drupal is also a big plus; they will be involved in a few content mgmt based projects a well.
Looking for a DevOps Engineer with solid automation and configuration management experience. Details are listed below:
You will be responsible for helping to scale out their infrastructure by writing automation recipes, which will help monitor systems, execute backups and automating day-to-day task, systems architecture/integration, automation deployment/development, monitoring design/implementation, and support for our client’s state of the art platform. Various projects include content to commerce and marketing to commerce integration; optimization of automation; moving platforms to AWS (ie. Akamai to Amazon). Essentially you will be key in standardizing, stabilizing and enhancing automation their middleware environment.

As a DevOps Engineer you will:
· Participate in development of new technologies that will shape continuous integration and testing
· Safeguard live production environments during intricate deployments
· Provide support when emergencies arise
· Monitor production environments for performance and adherence to SLAs.
· Managing the security of our production servers and applications and setting the best practices.
· Manage and monitor our AWS hosting environment, as well as assist in migrating remaining platforms to Amazon.
· Partner with developers to design, test, deploy and maintain scalable, robust software platforms and services.
· Design and build a continuous build and deploy environment and manage releases.
· Define test and verification processes for production services
· Monitor, test, and maintain production services
· Defining procedures and best practices to manage the operation, including updating or creating policies.
· Setting and achieving system uptime.
· Automate system healing and monitoring processes
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
· 2+ years of system administration with Red Hat-based Linux systems
· 2+ years maintaining/monitoring LAMP applications including performance
· Experience and knowledge in Apache/ web server maintenance
· Configuration management with Chef
· Has facility with scripting languages commonly used to automate and operate hosting infrastructures in a Linux environment (bash, python, Ruby and/or Perl)
· 2 to 3 years of experience with systems management of large-scale e-commerce systems.
· 2 to 3 years of experience with hosting in a cloud environment, such as Amazon Web Services.
· Solid understanding of IP networking technologies, including firewalls, switching, DNS etc. in virtual (AWS) environments
· Strong Monitoring Architecture and Design such as SNMP, Nagios etc.
· Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL database technologies
· Understanding of security concepts and best practices
· Experience implementing and improving Continuous Delivery concepts
