Job Title: Java Developer III

Division/Entity:
XBO is a one of the engineering group within Comcast's Technology and Product Division (TP&D) responsible for building cloud-based services to support next generation entertainment platform. We are responsible for building highly scalable system to onboard X1 connected devices.
Job Overview:
Responsible for planning and designing new software and web applications.
Analyzes tests and assists with the integration of new applications. Documents all development activity. Assists with training non-technical personnel. Has indepth experience knowledge and skills in own discipline. Usually determines own work priorities. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborates with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements. Conducts analysis to determine integration needs.
• Develop software infrastructure to support a wide variety of mobile web and smart TV applications and services.
• Explore evaluate and select components technologies to solve complex business problems.
• Be a key member of a top-notch engineering team that delivers high performance reliable software services and APIs to teams who build consumer-facing products.
• Collaborate with other teams in the company to design and develop scalable solutions that integrate well with Comcast s ecosystem.
• Present and defend architectural design and technical choices to internal and external audiences.
• Part of on-call engineer rotation
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
• 8+ years experience or equivalent programming in Java.
• 5+ years experience with highly scalable and high availability services development.
• Familiarity with cloud computing (S3, SQS, Hadoop, etc)
• Experience with relational data bases and also NoSQL technologies (Cassandra, Couchbase, MongoDb)
• Experience with managing/running/deploying services to one of cloud providers (AWS/Google Compute/Openstack, etc)
• Knowledge of source control system, Git.
• Knowledge of continuous integration and deployment tools (Bamboo, Jenkins, Ansible)
• Experience with automated testing frameworks (Junit, Mockito, TestNG)
• Deep understanding of HTTP protocol.
• Experience with Agiel/Scrum/Kanban.
• UNIX background (Solaris/Linux)
• DevOps experience
