Role: Senior SQL Server DBA

Location: Wilton, CT

Duration: 6+ Months

Job Description:

Very strong Microsoft SQL Server expertise to address an organization-wide Microsoft SQL Server upgrade and migration.

 

Required Skills/Background:

 

8+ years of Microsoft SQL Server Database Administration Management Experience.

Hands-on experience with MS SQL Server upgrades and migrations specifically from MS SQL Server 2008 (Windows 2003) to MS SQL Server 2014 on a shared Windows 2012 platform.

Working knowledge of VMware environments.

Assist and troubleshoot log shipping, mirroring and linked server issues.

Can support, develop and troubleshoot PowerShell and T-SQL scripts.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Has ability to work independently and achieve milestones.

Enjoys collaboratively interfacing with tech leads, developers and DBAs of highcaliber to solve problems.

Has experience in migrating MS SQL Server databases (experience in migrating to 2014 and Always On technology is preferred but not required)

Professional Consulting experience preferred.

Financial Services experience a MUST. Financial research, portfolio management and trading system database support a PLUS.

Microsoft SQL Server Certified

Must have excellent communication skills

Candidate willing to stay close to client site during work week and some weekends are also welcome to apply for this position.
