Job Title: RPG Programmer
Location: Edison/Maplewood,x NJ
Duration: 6-12 months. (likely extension to 2yrs)
Rate: $45/Hr on C2C/1099
Start: ASAP
Job: Our client is looking for an RPG developer that has either built or maintained a home grown Warehouse Management system, and/or worked on a RPG based WM system (Legacy Manhattan; Blue Fountain; VAI System 2000 WMS, Warehouse Link by Interlink, etc.).
This analyst will join our team as we transition from our homegrown application, to implement a net new Warehouselink by Interlink WMS.
A Senior RPG WMS Programmer/Analyst to lead development efforts and support our legacy WMS applications for clients distribution operations. We are seeking a motivated, well- rounded individual with strong leadership, communication and technical skills. The individual must be a resourceful self-starter and have excellent analytic skills.
Position Description: Senior RPG WMS Programmer/Analyst will lead development from design to implementation and support Warehouse Management Applications.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide services to design and program new and/or modify existing warehouse management system programs within methodical approach.
Assume a senior leadership role
Provide production support for warehouse management system to keep Distribution center downtime to a minimum.
Provide superior customer service to external/internal clients, including response to incidents, proactively notifying internal customers of issues, and assessing and communicating business impact.
Participate in on-call support.
Resolve IT Incidents through resolution and as a point of contact.
Implementation of software and hardware projects within budget timeline and scope definitions.
Communicate with business owners to understand requirements
2+ years WMS applications programming experience
5+ years of solution design experience
5+ years related free format RPG ILE programming experience.
3+ years of experience using embedded SQL.
3+ years of experience analyzing requests and making recommendations to improve processes and controls
3+ years of experience interfacing with vendors (internal and external) and business partners
5+ years of experience working on I-Series platform.
5+ years of experience designing application solutions.
Strong ability to provide excellent customer service and collaborate across multiple functions and levels of the organization
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management
Exercises judgment within defined policies and procedures for selecting methods, refining techniques, and evaluating existing criteria for obtaining results.
Must possess the ability to organize and coordinate systems in a complex environment.
Must have technical knowledge combined with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Must have the ability to effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Additional Knowledge and Skills a Plus
Experience working with software Warehouselink by Interlnk or other iSeries based WMS product
Experience working in Agile environment
