ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

·  University degree level education or equivalent in Data Communications, Communications Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent relevant work experience

· In depth knowledge of Data Communications technologies

· Vendor or Vendor agnostic certifications or equivalent proven practical network experience

· Hold at least one of relevant Professional certifications such as: Cisco, Security

·Excellent understanding of network security principles and practical experience implementing secure and robust data communications networks

· Proven experience of design, implementation and testing of network solutions including designing test campaigns and ensuring the successful delivery of validation testing

· A self-starter who can prioritise and manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively as well as managing those under his/​her control

· An authority on most aspects of data communications networks covering wired, wireless, remote, security, monitoring, and user authentication

· Excellent interpersonal skills with strong leadership skills

· Ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels

· Flexibility to travel and work flexibly in differing time zones

·  Routing protocols OSPF, BGP, IS-IS

· IPv4 and IPv6

· Network Admission Control

· Firewalls, DMZ, Encryption, IDS

·  WAN Optimization techniques

·  WAN technology, IPSEC, VPN, MPLS

·  DNS, DHCP, NTP

·  Load Balancing and GSLB

· Wan Optimization (acceleration, compression, latency reduction)

·   Quality of Service, Class of Services

              ·   TOGAF
