Job Title: Systems Engineer
Location: Austin, TX
Duration: 6+ Months Contract
Rate: $42/Hr on C2C/1099
Primary responsibilities include:
Manages/participates in project lifecycle and deliver projects on time, on budget and within specifications
Guides/consults customers with the definition of systems design
Participates in team meetings and assists with definition of systems design
Provides input regarding scalability, capacity and performance as solutions grow
Maintain documentation on existing architectures, standards, policies and procedures
Research new Exchange and Unified communications versions and features, propose changes to existing infrastructures for review and approval
Identify and implement technologies, service packs and hotfixes that will improve reliability and overall system stability for the Exchange and Unified messaging environment
Ensure Dell Messaging Operations team has the ability to measure availability and capacity of the email environment in addition to having monitoring and alerting
Ensure team members are included in all communications, project planning, requirements gathering and decisions
Ensure Dell Messaging Operations is included during planning, design, testing and implementation
Include documentation for full operational turnover as a deliverable of all projects
Additional Job Details:
Qualifications include: - Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience 4+ years) - Minimum of 4 years professional experience with Exchange and 2 year Unified messaging experience - Ability to work independently with minimal guidance - Must show good communication skills and be able to work with several groups on assigned projects both regional and global - Strong team player with ability to work in a team and individually - Fast learner, flexible, and able to work on multiple tasks - Knowledge of systems performance, hardware, software and troubleshooting - In depth knowledge of all versions of Exchange from 2007 to current - In depth knowledge of all versions of Windows server operating system from Windows 2008R2 to current - Good working knowledge Active Directory, Ldap, SMTP, ISA 2006 - Good working knowledge of networking technologies and concepts - Scripting knowledge highly preferred Duration: 6 months
3-5 technical responsibilities of the position?
Minimum of 4 years professional experience with Exchange and 2 year Unified messaging experience
Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
