Application tester 

Work Location : San Francisco, CA, USA.

Start Date : 25-Aug-2014.

Rate: $52/hr on C2C Maximum

 

Position Summary:

Works on data migration project where patient data from existing application is migrated to new platform. Tester would need to validate data from on both applications and raise issues where data discrepancy in the GUI/DB is identified. Mainly manual testing. In cases where new application is different from old- ensure the data is correctly transformed Where applicable, test integration points with testing stubs or application. Query Database for data integrity, check through application logs for exceptions Deploy the build into QA env, as required.

 

Key Responsibilities (List the top five to seven essential responsibilities in priority order):

1.	Responsible for updating existing functional, end to end and system integration test plan	10
2.	Executing test cases/test plans against test environments. Analyzing and documenting test results.	40
3.	Raising and tracking defects in bug tracking tool	15
4.	Troubleshooting issues found in QA – for instance by looking at the app logs, DB etc	15
5.	Liaising with SCRUM team on issue tracking, and raising risks with QA team lead	10

 

 

Minimum Job Qualifications:

Education/Training –

• 4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience

 

Business Experience –

• 2+ years experience in software and/or program manual testing.

 

Specialized Knowledge/Skills –

• 2+ experience working in a formal application development environment with an established SDLC and defect life cycle.
• 2+ experience in all phases of functional, regression, acceptance and performance testing.
• Ability to interpret and understand database schemas to ensure database integrity.
• 2+ years testing experience with Oracle databases, Oracle Forms, PL/SQL, and UNIX.
• 2+ years testing experience with web based applications, J2EE, and SOA platform is desired.
• Desired - Experience in Health Care testing
• Desired – Experience in Agile methodology
