Sr. Linux Engineer or Admin

Mechanicsburg, PA

6 Months contract

Max Rate: $60/hr

 

MUST HAVE:

·        Bachelors Degree or higher

·        Linux certification

·        Systems Administration Experience with Linux and HP-UX operating systems 

·        10+ years of experience in an IT infrastructure environment

·        10+ years of Linux Engineering/Administration

·        2+ years of experience with Linux servers  and  SAN storage devices (EMC SANs Desired)

·        Solid understanding of Enterprise Linux and best practices

·        Solid understanding of Linux monitoring and tools

·        Solid understanding of Linux security best practices

·        Solid understanding of Oracle on Linux, including Oracle RAC

·        Perl scripting experience

·        Veritas File System management

·        Ensuring backups are sufficient for complete system recovery

·        Ability to solve problems quickly and effectively

·        Ability to calmly resolve high risk situations

·        Knowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of responsibilities

·        Writing Skills – reports, proposals, white papers

·        Ability to handle multiple tasks

·        Must be detail oriented, committed to deadlines and have solid verbal and written communication skills

·        Work with vendors to ensure maintenance coverage for all relevant servers and equipment

·        Utilize tools for continuous system monitoring of system resource utilization

·        System maintenance including backups, operating system installations and upgrades, etc.

·        Ability to follow established Change Control processes
