Build and Release Engineer

Analyze, develop and maintain build scripts and tools that will improve the efficiency of development processes and our build infrastructure. Design, document, and code complex build/release processes to ensure accurate configuration, assembly, and delivery of source code from product release. Solve release engineering problems using build and release best practices. Design new and manage existing release branches; merge release branches; and monitor, build, and deploy software release packages. Develop, analyze, and maintain tools that support and automate processes for software product releases. Write automation scripts and programs to improve workflow.

 

Skills/ Experience

Required:

·         Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related technical field;

·         Five years of work experience in job offered

·         Writing Perl, Python and Shell scripts to maintain build scripts and automation unit test

·         Scripts

·         Version control tools (Perforce, BitKeeper, Clearcase, and Subverion), Bug tracking tools

·         (Bugzilla, Clearquest, ServiceNow, and scm bug), Build tools (Maven/Ant and Make), and Databases (My SQL and Oracle);

·         Implementing and documenting build and release best practices;

·         Creating new branches and merge release branches using configuration tools;

·         Build and deploy software packages using Cruisecontrol and Jenkins;

·         Utilizing software tools to automate the process;

·         Linux, Solaris, AIX and Windows operating systems;

·         Installers experience using InstallShield;

·         J2EE and C++ development;

·         Weblogic, Apache, and Tomcat;

·         Preparing and installing patches using scripts;

·         Migration experience from different version control tools

·         Utilizing debugging tools (pdb, gdb,dbx ) to resolve the coredumps and to debug the scriptsand stacks;

·         Utilizing compilers (javac, gcc, and g++) to resolve compilation problems.
