Position: Red Hat Linux Administrator

Location: West Chester, PA

Duration: 6 Month Contract

Interview: phone followed by Face to Face

Roles and Responsibilities:

• The Red Hat Administrator works as a member of the Linux/Wintel team to design, implement, monitor, and maintain highly available production Red Hat systems and infrastructure.
• Resolve high-level troubleshooting, issue resolution and provide root cause analysis.
• Manage monitoring of server architecture to ensure high availability.
• Follow change and incident management processes.
• Develop Linux standards and documentation for the products supported by the team.
• Perform frequent Linux server health checks and implement patches to ensure current revision level.
• Support infrastructure components, including capacity, availability and performance related processes and provide performance metrics.
• Research new technologies to improve existing environments and be proactive in problem mitigation.
• Work with security teams to ensure security policies are met.

 

Specific Job Knowledge

• Advanced knowledge of Red Hat server builds, support, testing, and deployment which can be streamlined for scalability and manageability.
• Advanced understanding virtualized environments and IaaS/PaaS.
• Advanced understanding of VMware, VMware vCAC, VMware vCM, Cisco UCS, Tomcat.
• Expert in Red Hat administration, configuration, installation and upgrades.
• RHEL HA environments for tuning and upgrade.
• Evaluating HA and non-HA workloads and applications to validate that HA is used and configured appropriately.
• Experienced in migration path to RHEL DM Multipath.
• Experienced in RHEL version 7.  Also experienced in upgrades from version 4.x, 5.x and 6.x to version 7.
• Expert experience with Red Hat Resilient Storage and Cluster Suite.
• Core Build of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, consisting of a foundational build to facilitate future standardization, management, and deployment.
• Experienced integrating RHEL core build environment into enterprise identity management platform.
• Red Hat Subscription Asset Manager; experienced in install and configure Red Hat Subscription Asset Manager as an on-premises subscription management application to centrally manage the registration and asset allocation processes.
• Architecting, installing, and configuring SAM.
• Identifying and customizing usage and audit reports.
• Experienced in Red Hat Satellite Architecture and Implementation.
• Taking into account Puppet use.
• Installation architecture, channel management, certificate management, user and system group management, and Satellite architecture.
• Good understand of DMZ, disconnected networks, and PCI compliance.
• Patch Management tasks:  able to design and implement a patch management strategy for Client's RHEL environment to address the lifecycle, execution, rollback, reporting, and overall management of patches as delivered by Red Hat.

 

Requirements:

• Bachelors’ degree required in Computer Science, Information Science or related field of study, or equivalent years’ experience.
• Five – eight years of RedHat Linux administration.
• Experience working in a corporate environment with mission critical business systems.
• Experience working with tight project schedules for installing, monitoring and troubleshooting hardware, software, and applications running in a multi-tier environment.
• Experience with International support is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills are required.
• Ability to work individually as well as within a team.
• As required, work any shift/extended shift and participate in an on-call support rotation
