Job Description and Requirements:
A senior and experienced resource to lead the BI implementation effort. The entire effort will be implemented in-house with help of ---c.resources and/or contractors. This resource will also be responsible to work with ----. IT team to setup the onsite/offshore BI team and develop the expertize. We highly desire a mix of technical and business acumen. Should understand finance & business concepts and should be able to drive discussions around the usage of BI tools such as dashboards, smartview, reports, adhoc reporting, KPIs etc. And should be able to lead an effort to establish DW best practices on business (usage of DW) and IT (set up of DW)
1. Manages
the Business Intelligence team including both onshore and offshore team
members.
2. Leads the implementation efforts for deploying BI solutions and
integrating them with enterprise systems and applications.
3. Responsible for the design of the BI and data architecture including
the enterprise semantic layer and metadata.
4. Evaluates and recommends database/data warehouse components (i.e.
hardware, rdbms software), ETL software, metadata management tools, end user
reporting tools and database design solutions.
5. Responsible for developing an enterprise data model and helping to lead
the rationalization of the various BI and data platforms.
6. Responsible for chartering a BI Competency Center and coming up with an
enterprise data vision, standards, metadata, data quality approach, etc.
7. Oversees the creation of ETL design specifications.
8. Participates in integration testing of solution that involves database,
OLAP, and reporting components
9. Facilitates user requirement discussions with the business and drive
architecture and design as a result
10. Serves as liaison between the IT organization and business groups
and/or the operations teams in order to translate reporting requirements into
optimized data structures.
11. Reviews and explores source data as it relates to business concepts as
well as how it relates to other data elements.
12. Interviews data stewards/experts
13. Maps data from original source to the BI database layer to the
presentation database layer and communicates/documents that to the ETL
Designer.
14. Ability to model data into a database design (i.e. star schema,
snowflake schema, data vault, 3rd normal form, etc.)
15. Leads and mentors existing staff on database modeling techniques.
16. Works with business users/product managers to create or review
analytic requirement’s documents and translate into technical solutions.
17. Coordinates with Project Managers and participates in project
planning.
18. Performs troubleshooting and provides resolutions to reporting issues.
19. Develops and maintains short and long-range plans on the BI roadmap.
20. Manages personnel administration including staffing, compensation,
training, performance evaluations, and employee relations.
21. Communicates regularly with customer departments.
22. Recommends and implements new procedures, programs and/or tools to
improve processes.
23. Interacts in cooperative and professional manner, with all levels of
employees, vendors and/or clients, in team environment.
24. Organizes tasks and resources to complete work and meet deadlines
according to established ISS procedures.
Qualifications
1. Experience with OBIEE & OBIA 11g
2. Experience with Project Analytics, Financial Analytics, Procurement and
Spend Analytics, Sales Analytics. In addition to this candidates having
experience with Supply Chain, Service analytics would be preferred.
3. Oracle R12 and/or R11i experience. Current DW GO LIVE will be on R11i
instance and later upgraded to R12 once the ERP gets upgraded.
4. Experience leading the design and implementation of enterprise data
warehouses and large scale data marts (Agile, quick POCs and then roll the POCs
into scalable solutions)
5. Should possess business acumen and enough insight into Oracle
applications R11i/R12 in order to handle independent workshops, requirement
gathering sessions.
6. Must have experience leading and architecting at least 2-3 full life cycle
large implementation of OBIEE/OBIA.
7. Experience with BI techniques (Reporting, Dashboards, Scorecards,
Cubes).
8. Demonstrable experience in data modeling; logical, physical and
dimensional modeling.
9. Demonstrable high expertise in creation of Data Warehouse structures,
partitions, dashboards, ETL and report models.
10. Experience designing and implementing data management strategies
(purge / archive).
