Position: Senior Database Admin

Location: Jersey City/Parsippany, NJ
Duration: 6 months+ High Possibility of extension upto 18 months

Experience: 8+ years

 

Mandatory skills: 

·                     Database Administration with DB2 utilities (8 yrs) 

·                     DB2 zOS (8 yrs) 

·                     DB2 LUW (2+ yrs) 

·                     IIS DataStage preferred (1+ yrs) 

 

Roles and Responsibilities and Requirements:-

·                     Experience with IBM on both Z/OS platform and IBM DB2 LUW on zLinux/zVM platforms are mandatory. 

·                     We’re looking for a Senior DBA to administer and maintain non-production and production database environments for the Global Claims Technology division using the following technologies: IBM DB2 on zOS platform and IBM DB2 LUW on zLinux/zVM platforms. 

·                     We expect the candidate to have working knowledge of DB2 utilities (REORG, FLASH COPY, RESTORE), DB2 performance tuning, exposure to PEGA and IBM Process Server database architecture, DB2 v10 and new functions, DB2 command Editor and IBM data studio, handling DB2 LOBs, and DB2 connect.

·                     Experience with IBM InfoSphere Information Server products is a significant plus.

·                     DBA will be responsible for standards and design of physical data storage, maintenance, access, and security administration. 

·                     Additional duties include: backup and recovery, configuration of database parameters, prototyping designs against logical data models, definition of data repository, data dictionaries and warehousing requirements, optimization of database access and allocation of database resources for optimum configuration of database performance and cost. 

 

Required: 

·                     Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field or equivalent work experience and at least 8 years of experience working with various database management systems in database design, testing, implementation, maintenance and administration in a multiple platform environment.
