Must have:
5 – 7 years of referable experience working with Oracle Database supporting SAP Applications.
Experience as Senior Oracle DBA managing large 8i, 9i and 10g databases
Experience in managing Oracle databases within Veritas Clustered environment
Strong understanding of database concepts, design, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
Knowledge of Hot Standby/Data Guard, Advanced Replication, and Real Application Cluster (RAC)
Strong experience in the transition of logical data models to physical data models
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2000, 2005 and 2008
Experience with backup and restore design and implementation
experience in disaster recovery exercises
Strong UNIX, PL/SQL and SQL Scripting skills
Experience using Data Modeling tools
Experience with Oracle 11g preferable
Excellent personal communication, leadership and organizational skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline and Oracle Certification is a plus.
Job Description: We are looking for experienced Oracle DBA with SAP experience .This position requires strong organizational, technical, and communications skills. The person will design, develop, implement, and maintain large Oracle enterprise databases. Setup and implement backup/recovery and security strategies. Monitor the performance of databases and make tuning changes. Recommend physical database change, such as join and secondary indexes, partitioned primary indexes, to improve performance. Monitor interfaces/processes responsible for updating various ERP systems to insure data consistency and availability. Oversee ongoing system capacity planning, forecasting, and tuning. Manage storage to determine when additional space would be required. Perform research, prepare technical studies, and makes technical recommendations. The position involves working closely with business users, analyst, data modeler and Application Administrators to ensure that requirements are consistently and operationally defined.
Roles & Responsibilities
Provide DBA support for relational Oracle databases in Windows and Unix environment.
5+ years’ experience working with Oracle Database supporting SAP Applications.
Provide DBA support for SQL Server databases environment
Create, maintain, and support Oracle architectural environment
Physical database design
Administration of production objects in change control environment
Development of proactive processes for monitoring capacity and performance
Perform system level and application level tuning
Plan and coordinate system upgrades
Provide technical support for the application development team
Perform backup and recovery operations using RMAN and various backup software (TSM/Netbackup)
Support of production interfaces and scripts
Provide end user support
Database security administration
