Role: Production Software Support & Software Programmer
Duration: 6+ Months
Location: Greensboro, NC
Mandatory Technical / Functional Skills
Purpose of Position
Provide Software expertise for manufacturing Software operations to ensure products are produced at optimum costs, at all times, in order to insure customer satisfaction. Provide accurate methods, process instructions, routings and standards. Review manufacturing processes and provide effective solutions in inefficient areas.
Programming Languages: C++, VB6, Microsoft Foundation C, SQL, C# (Knowing basic scripting, Java, windows batch files would be an advantage)
Key Responsibilities
· Software development and Support in MFC, C++, VB6, .net and scripting.
· Analysis of the requirements, issues, test environment in manufacturing floor.
· Analyze the current application and identify the issues and fix issues in current application.
· Analysis of existing application and code written in Microsoft foundation C. Implement the required changes as per the requirement analysis and design in the application
· Understand the current issues in the software applications used in Manufacturing and propose solutions.
· Provide software support to Gilbarco’s Floor/ Test Engineers
· Test new software tools in manufacturing floor.
· Train the operators on new tools and prepare work instructions.
· Deploy new tools after testing in manufacturing floor.
· Participate in Problem Solving Sessions and Kaizens to identify and resolve issues (Both Software and Manufacturing Process)
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Background and Skill
· Bachelor's (or higher) degree in a technical discipline and relevant work experience (required).
· Good Programming skill in MFC is important.
· Debugging skills and ability to work with multiple programming languages.
· Excellent communications (written and verbal) and presentation/facilitation skills.
· Strong communication, interpersonal, leadership and decision making skills.
· Effective project management and problem solving skills.
