Job Title: SAS Programmer 

Duration: 6+ months contract

Location: Arlington, Virginia

Job Description

Role: 

-SAS programming with large and complex health care databases. 

-ETL, data standardization, database production, application development, ad hoc analysis and process engineering. 

-Develop and implement data management/data quality techniques to assure and measure data for completeness, reasonableness, accuracy and consistency. 

-Provide custom analysis and prepare outcomes using health care claims data. 

-Collaborating with health care consultants across the country to integrate and analyze data from various sources. 

-Working effectively with external vendors for task like secure data transmission, data validation etc. 

-Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time. 

-Proven ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision. 

-Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills. 

-Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

-Strong attention to detail. 

-Demonstrated abilities to handle multiple concurrent projects effectively with varying tasks and priorities and minimal supervision. 

-The candidate must be motivated, inquisitive and able to readily take ownership of responsibilities.

Requirements: 

-3 to 5 years of solid SAS Programming experience. 

-Minimum 3 years of healthcare claims processing and analysis experience. 

-Strong command of health care claims and financial analysis. 

-Experiencing working with benefits data, medical claims, pharmacy claims and other healthcare data. 

-Excellent problem solving, data and analytical skills. 

-Good MS Excel skills. 

-Good understanding of relational database design concepts. 

-Experience with health care codes like ICD9, ICD10, CPT, HCPCS, DRG etc. 

-Experience with HIPPA, PHI and data security standards.
