Mainframe Developer – San Antonio TX
Minimum Requirements: 8-10 years of software development experience with Cobol, JCL, DB2,IMS/DC, SQL & VSAM.
Mainframe Developer Job Description:
1. Utilizing technical expertise; Creates system requirements, performs design and analysis, and coding and unit testing of complex to highly complex system functionality and/or defect accoss mutlitple platforms.
2. Identifies ideas to improve system performance and impact availability.
3. Resolves complex techinal design issues.
4. Provides functional and/or techincal guidance in evaluating applications systems or evaluating requests for proposals.
5. Coordinates change control and prioritizes tasks with business or techincal departments.
6. Analyzes and influences techinal, system, and/or user requirements.
7. Identifies and creates solutions to improve system performance and availability.
8. Faciliates root cause anlaysis of system issues to minimize impact and future occurences
9. Creates system documentation / play book (s) and serves as a lead techinal reviewer and contributor in requirements, design and code reviews.
10. Develops accurate estimates on work packages. May also actively contribute to the techincal and soft skills development of team members.
11. Coordinates system application transition from development teams to maintenance and production teams, and/or constructs and implements necessary controls to assure system/application traceability.
