Title: Linux Engineer

Location: Milwaukee, WI

Duration: 12 plus months

 

Job Description:

·         Deep and broad understanding of Linux and general UNIX systems administration

·         5+ years working with both Red Hat and Debian based distributions

·         Strong networking knowledge at all OSI layers within a Linux-based OS

·         Strong understanding of virtualization and container-based deployments

·         Experience deploying and implementing OpenStack-based infrastructure

·         Experience installing, configuring and securing Kubernetes clusters

·         Strong knowledge of storage systems (both Block and Object based)

·         3+ years hands-on experience using configuration management automation system (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Salt, etc.)

·         Demonstrated skills automating installations and deployments through portable scripts (bash, python, ruby, et.al.)

·         3+ years’ experience using git source code management

·         Demonstrated skills in Linux systems security and hardening

·         Demonstrated skills in performance tuning

·         Demonstrated skills in troubleshooting and root cause analysis

·         Strong written and verbal communication skills

·         Proven capability to transfer deliverables and knowledge of on-going extension and maintenance to in-house team.

 

Desired Skills:

·         4+ years of hands on experience in modern Linux operating system (e.g Scientific Linux, RedHat, SUSE).

·         4+ years of experience working on virtualization technologies such as virtual box, KVM, zones

·         3+ years of expertise in Docker container tech stack and be able develop/compose/automate/deploy/debug  containers on premise.

·         Experience in Jenkins infrastructure setup, maintaining complex Jenkins deployments and operationalization.

·         Experience in UNIX scripting such as bash, csh, perl, python.

·         Good understanding of concurrent software development, its effect on build management & releasing the builds across versions & environments.

·         Dependable, hands-on problem solver obsessed with automating processes with excellent analytical skills, detail-oriented and moves fast.

·         Strong interpersonal skills, good judgment and communications skills.

 

Job Responsibilities:

·         Knowledge of the Titanium flavor OpenStack

·         Knowledge of Kubernetes network overlays and performance tuning

·         Knowledge of SuSE Linux

·         Knowledge of server class hardware

·         Knowledge of GPU compute concepts

·         Experience working on Healthcare regulated systems

·         Experience supporting Verification and Validation testing
