Job Description:
Works closely with customers, business analysts, and team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions. These solutions must be aligned with business and IT strategies and comply with the organization’s architectural standards. Involved in the full systems life cycle and is responsible for designing, coding, testing, implementing, maintaining and supporting application software that is delivered on time and within budget. Makes recommendations towards the development of new code or reuse of existing code. Responsibilities may also include participation in component and data architecture design, performance monitoring, product evaluation and buy versus build recommendations. Has experience in systems analysis, design and a solid understanding of development, quality assurance and integration methodologies. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
Experience Required:
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent
- 4+ years of data analysis / data mining experience (SQL, Elastic Search / ELK, Splunk, Hadoop, Tableau, etc )
- 4+ years of scripting experience (Javascript, python, bash, etc)
- 1-2+ years of basic database administration (Elastic Search and Logstash strongly preferred)
Skill Requirements:
- Strong proficiency in working with time-series databases: reading and writing queries, designing tables and indexes, data summarization and archiving
- Experience with running a database: estimating usage, sizing out deployments, configuring clustering, load balancing, fine tuning performance, and similar operational concerns
- Excellent understanding of string manipulation and regex techniques for processing unstructured data from multiple sources
- Javascript proficiency a plus
Responsibilities:
- Operate Elastic search and Logstash infrastructure - ensure 100% uptime
- Develop Logstash configurations for indexing and storing data
- Develop Elastic search queries for retrieving data
- Work with team members to make Elastic search data consumable by apps / services
- Analyze Elastic search system performance and scale the cluster up as needed
General Skills Required:
- Git, Linux, ssh,
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
