Job Description
The Automation, Deployment and Tools Support (ADTS) team is looking to enhance our software deployment automation processes. We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to understand/evaluate our current processes and eliminate manual intervention where possible. We have a sharp technical team and you will be working with many top tier software development professionals.
Responsibilities:
Develop an understanding of Gap's code deployment patterns to automate and enhance SDLC
Participate in the design of new or changing CI/CD pipelines
Participate in problem solving and troubleshooting for the assigned applications, functional areas or projects
Develop tools to enable more efficient/effective response to current deployment processes
Share knowledge by effectively documenting work
Stay current with changes in the technical area of expertise
Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of the assigned applications, functional areas or projects
Work with the team to ensure the quality of the assigned applications, functional areas or projects
Respond quickly and effectively to production issues and take responsibility for seeing those issues through resolution
Mentor less experienced engineers
Qualifications:
5+ years experience in deployment automation & CI/CD technologies
Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills
Willingness to innovate, adapt and try new technologies
Experience in modern software version control systems such as Dimensions, SVN, or GIT.
Experience with Unix platforms, system administration skills in UNIX and Web Servers architecture
Experience with Tomcat configuration, monitoring, management and optimization
Experience in web applications deployments to nix environments running Tomcat, JBoss or Websphere
Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new applications
Strong Problem-Solver/Trouble-Shooter
Ability to work with application/development teams to create continuous deployment process
Familiarity/Experience in the following technologies: Ruby, Groovy, Python, Bash, Gradle
Familiarity with agile and scrum project management
Familiarity with CI Tools (Artifactory, Jenkins, Chef/Puppet)

Manager is seeking 5+ years Jenkins, EC, Chef or Puppet , experience with a software configuration management tool ( SVN or GIT) , Unix, Tomcat, JBoss and or Websphere . KEY HERE IS ABILITY TO WORK WITH APPLICATION / DEVELOPMENT TEAMS TO CREATE CONTINUOUS DEPLOYMENT PROCESS. Seeking a contributor, Must be able to follow Agile processes-- this is a very goal oriented team that works quickly ( 2 week iterations)
