Position: Linux Sys Admin-Automation/DevOps
Duration: 6 months+
Location: Dallas, TX
JOB DESCRIPTION
· Strong understanding of infrastructure engineering
· Experience as a Linux sysadmin on production systems
· Knowledge of DevOps trends and best practices
· Build automation tools to support the development and network operations teams
· Take ownership of your work and challenge technical decisions
· Strong scripting/coding ability in Java, Ruby, Perl, Python or something similar.
· Passion for furthering your experience in Linux, DevOps, Virtualization et
· Must have experience with CVS, SVN and Git
· Develop automation, processes using Puppet, and tools designed to make this process simpler and more robust
· Align engineering and core shared operations services
· Participate in troubleshooting, capacity planning and analysis, performance analysis activities
· The ideal candidate is expected to excel under pressure, work well with others, be self-motivated, and be able to manage short and long term projects.
· Implementing automation for kick starting, monitoring, management, and support will be a key component of the position.
· Actively interface with Application admins, network engineers, systems, storage, project management and database administrators on projects and providing on call support will be required. You will be able to Identify root cause, troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly and effectively, sometimes under pressure.
· Good communication and teamwork is extremely important. The role also involves participating in the 24x7 pager rotation of the team
