Role: DB2 DBA Administrator
Location: New York, NY
Duration: 8 Months Contract
Job description - DB2 DBA on z/OS
• Experience as a database administrator on DB2 for z/OS DBA and system programming DBA areas
• Upgrade experience on DB2 V11 on z/OS
• Identify the Incompatibilities to be addressed before v11 NFM and share with Application teams to address them
• Identify the Incompatibilities to be addressed with other products like DB2 Connect, Replication Server and Federation server
• Performing scans against the application libraries to identify the incompatibilities for V11
• Pre-upgrade Preparatory activities and execution of DBA test cases
• Preparation and Execution DB2 V11 IVP Jobs
• Knowledge of REXX scripting
• General Sanity Check to identify usage of deprecated features
• Preparation of fallback plan
• Reserved keywords - Review View definitions, generate remediation scripts
• Testing of Omegamon, Platinum and QMF before and after the upgrade
• Performance tuning Support for Applications
• Nice to have IMS DBA experience and DB2 LUW DBA experience
• Point of contact for DB2 Upgrade and escalation handling
• Vendor engagement for any upgrade issue.
