Unix Administration

Skills:

Required:

·         Red Hat Linux and AIX technical support

·         Scripting abilities – ksh, Perl, and Python and/or C

·         UNIX security – understand the basics (AD authentication, SSL, SSH)

·         Virtualization support – AIX LPAR creation, DLPAR

           

Desired:

·         DataPower administrative experience/familiarity

·         Middleware knowledge – MQSeries, Message Broker, Data Transmissions (FTP SSH/SFTP)

·         Configuration management – Salt, Puppet, Chef, etc.

·         VMWare (Linux deployments)

·         Websphere Application Server knowledge and/or Tomcat

·         Performance tuning

·         Basic UNIX administration (user account administration, VG, LV, and FS support – backfill day to day support so others can work on projects.

·         Assist other UNIX admins with project tasks

·         Some project work could be assigned depending on person’s skill set

·         UNIX server cleanup. Make sure that all the servers are configured with the same settings. This is for both AIX and Linux servers.

·         Convert some existing Red Hat Linux servers to CENT OS Linux servers

·         System automation projects – Configuration management, user account administration
