Trial Registration Troubleshooting

I am having trouble with setting up for trial registration. I have
set up my yahoo email using smtp.

Outgoing mail server (SMTP) settings

* SMTP server: plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com
* Use SSL
* Port: 465
* Use authentication

I have not received a trial registration code. The program shuts
itself down so I have no way to troubleshoot or test or even change my
settings.

There is no additional troubleshooting help other than email
sa...@butterflyvista.com and I am not getting a response.

Hi Tim,

I responded to you twice via email and the registration server
responded to you once via email as well for a total of 3 times. The
emails are probably in your spam folder. You should white list
*@butterflyvista.com to ensure proper email delivery.

I do not want to post your trial registration code here, but it was
sent out. If you continue to have issues receiving emails from us at
ButterflyVista do you have another email address that we can try?

If receipt of emails fails, for whatever reason, we can try other
methods, although I am halfway interested why you cannot receive
emails.

Oh yes,

All your 2 or 3 emails were received, so they are coming through.

Hi Sarah,
Sorry for the multiple submissions.

Checking my mail app's Spam folder is the first thing I checked.

I just want to know how to re-enter the smtp information into JobFish,
after all perhaps I entered something incorrectly. I doesn't let me
get back to the configuration screen. It keeps timing out and
shutting down the app.

I could have entered something incorrectly. After entering the
information and hitting next, the program doesn't let me view or
change the data I entered. Is there a way to do this without
uninstalling and reinstalling?

It looks like even uninstalling and re-installing does not bring back
the email settings screen.

Hi Tim,

A telephone call might the easiest way to resolve all the issues, if
we cannot get email going. Did you not get any of the emails that I
wrote you? That is weird. You said that you checked the spam filter,
but did not say that if you got the emails or not.

You do not, as you found out, need to uninstall / reinstall. There is
no need for that.

First off, do you have your registration code?

Secondly, the SMTP information has nothing to do with registration.
That information does not come to ButterflyVista. The SMTP is solely
for your own benefit, when sending out emails from within the program,
such as replying to postings, contacting recruiters. It is no
different than the information Microsoft Outlook asks you, when
setting up a mail account before you can send/receive emails. JobFish
does not allow for receiving emails, so the POP3 information is not
necessary. JobFish has its own SMTP information in case you do not
provide any, but that is problematic, as Hotmail and others block the
default SMTP address.

You can always change the settings later on by going to the Tools |
Options (now File menu | Options in 2007 motif) | Email. You will see
the email settings there.

Not being able to get into the application is because you are not
entering the registration code. There is a dialog that comes up,
where you can press "Enter Registration Code" or something like that.

Let us start off by letting me know if you received your registration
code or not. I do not want to post it here for obvious reasons.

If had received the registration code I would have entered and would
not need your help. I am NOT getting any of your or your companies
emails. They were not in my spam folder. I continue to check my spam
folder in case any emails are sent delayed. I also continue to search
my entire email for "butterflyvista" and "jobfish" and do not find any
emails.

I know you'd like to get to the root of this but I really need to get
going with this app. I will email send you another email address so
that you can email the registration code to that account.

Hi Tim,

I just sent you the trial registration code from my gmail account to
both your Yahoo and Gmail accounts. The subject line reads "JobFish
2010 Trial Registration Code"

Gmail to Gmail should hopefully work. Let me know either way.

If by noon or so you do not receive it, then email me your Skype and/
or telephone number and we can try that.
