Position Title: Senior Business Analyst
Location: CENTRAL CONNECTICUT
Reports To: ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, PRODUCT MANAGEMENT & BUSINESS ANALYSIS
Description: The incumbent will be involved in the inception, creation and maintenance of all Business Requirements documentation that accurately defines the customer business needs and enables the technology team to create a quality solution. The primary objective for this group is to partner and collaborate with the business to accurately capture all relevant business processes and information and translate it into graphical and textual representation for the technology team to build a system. The BA team will participate in the functional certification of all system components to ensure accuracy and adherence to requirements documentation.
Responsibilities:
畢ead the relationship between business departments and IT through customer facing interactions. Take active role and primary ownership in managing all relationships
百erve as a liaison between business users and the applications development team to define user specifications for complex and cross functional new or modified business applications systems
姫erform business analysis activities at the strategic, operational and organizational level. All activities must be focused on producing business and functional requirements
疋evelop detailed descriptions and analysis of current and future state processes and workflows
彦acilitate Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions to elicit business and functional requirements. Produce recommendations with key users to specify improvements to existing automated business processes and systems
匹reate specifications that include detailed descriptions of records, files, and documents used in processing and data flow charts. Document descriptions of the interrelationship of the business rules to be considered by application development. Conceive and recommend solutions to business end user management
匹onduct preliminary tests of business systems applications before the application is sent to quality assurance. Coordinate the development of test defects to debug the system and participate in trial runs of the application
筆ay participate in determining the computer hardware and software that will be needed to implement the application
姫articipate in defining and prioritizing project work and requests
膝ain end user approval of final requirements specifications, ensuring that new and modified applications effectively support users needs and requirements
匹onduct/lead the business and functional requirements on projects to support the development of new or modified systems and applications for users
姫articipate in development of users specifications by representing user requirements to the applications development team
筆aintain relationships with Business Unit management in order to proactively suggest system enhancements to improve efficiency and support business goals
匹onduct requirements analysis that serve as a foundation for the subsequent complex development of business applications systems
筆ay assist Manager and/or Lead BA in mentoring of junior BA analysts
柊ctively participate in Requirements Gathering Standards definition process. Take ownership for implementing standards. Mentor junior members in Standards process
柊ctively participate in maintaining Governance Model for Standards Process. Work closely with Manager and/or Lead BA in defining and implementing Governance Model
柊ssist in the growth and mentor others in developing, accurate, reliable and robust solutions that meet design specifications and anticipate future uses and enhancements
Qualifications: The incumbent should possess strong organizational skills and understand the relationship of the team痴 work to customer outcomes. A creative contributor and a self-starter with a solid understanding of the majority of business requirements that will be applied to system design and development. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong knowledge in several functional areas. Anticipates and avoids common problems and roadblocks.
1.Business experience and experience as an IT Business Analyst
2.Knowledge of current business applications
3.Experience in several application development life cycles
4.Solid understanding of Project Management
5.Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle process
Relocation: YES
Travel: YES; as needed for assigned projects. Majority of the work will be out of Central Connecticut and New York City
