Future Opportunity - Fire Fighter - (16000002)
1. JOB PURPOSE
The purpose of the role is to function as part of an operational rescue and fire fighting team for the extinguishment and control of fire and the saving and preservation of life during all types of emergencies at the airport.
The job role handles a high level of technical rescue equipment and complex fire vehicles to enable the job role to be carried out effectively and efficiently. Without fire fighters the ARFFS would not exist.
The Fire Fighter makes up the majority of the minimum staffing levels required by the regulatory authorities (GCAA/DCAA) Fire Fighters also form the majority work force, which ensures all fire vehicles and rescue and fire fighting equipment is maintained, tested and inspected to ensure operational reliance.
2. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/KNOWLEDGE
Qualifications and Education:
The jobholder shall have basic numeracy and literacy following secondary school education and be fluent in English as the lectures and operational commands are given in English.
The jobholder must hold a UAE Heavy Duty Driving Licence or working toward a Licence.
Experience: No fire fighting experience is required, but the jobholder must be physically fit and able to pass the necessary medical requirements for the job.
Training: The Fire Fighter will under go extensive fire fighting training and will be required to pass assessments before qualifying competent and being able to form part of the operational crew
Knowledge: The jobholder should be able to retain technical knowledge, understanding and skill and be able to consistently demonstrate the competences gained.
