The client is looking for a Database Administrator (DBA) with 5–8 years of experience who has strong hands-on expertise in managing AWS Redshift, Amazon Aurora (MySQL/PostgreSQL), and Apache Kafka environments. They need someone who can handle database administration tasks such as performance monitoring, backup/recovery, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting while ensuring high availability and data integrity. The ideal candidate should also have strong SQL and performance tuning skills, knowledge of AWS monitoring/automation tools, and experience maintaining secure, scalable, and compliant cloud-based data platforms. This role is best suited for a candidate with both traditional DBA skills and modern cloud data platform experience.

We are looking for a Database Administrator DBA with strong experience in AWS Redshift, Amazon
Aurora, and Apache Kafka to manage, optimize, and support high availability data platforms.

 

Key Responsibilities

Administer and maintain AWS Redshift, Aurora MySQL PostgreSQL, and Kafka environments

Monitor performance, availability, and data integrity

Perform backup, recovery, patching, and upgrades

Optimize database and streaming performance

Ensure data security, access control, and compliance, Troubleshoot

Minimum years of experience*: 5-8 years

Certifications Needed: No

Top 3 responsibilities you would expect the Subcon to shoulder and execute*:
1. Working knowledge of Apache Kafka administration
2. Experience with AWS services, monitoring, and automation
3. Strong SQL and performance tuning skills
