Client Expectations (Very Important)

• Strong hands-on experience in Apigee (Apigee X/APIM) is mandatory.
• Strong hands-on experience with Kafka (Confluent preferred) is mandatory.
• Candidate must be able to confidently explain Apigee and Kafka concepts with real project examples.
• Theoretical or limited exposure to Apigee/Kafka will not be considered.
• Java, Spring Boot, and REST API experience alone is not sufficient.
• Must have Technical Lead experience in Integration & Modernization projects.

 

Role: Onsite Technical Lead (API Integration & DevOps)

Location: Benton Harbor, MI 49022 (100% Onsite)

Duration: 18 Months

Experience: 6–8+ Years

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Onsite Technical Lead to lead the client's Integration DevOps Program. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership, drive API and integration development, mentor offshore teams, and ensure successful delivery of cloud-native integration solutions while collaborating closely with business stakeholders.

 

Must Have Skills (Highest Priority)

• 6+ years of hands-on Integration Development experience.
• Strong expertise in:
• Apigee X (APIM)
• Cloud Armor (WAF & API Security)
• Microservices Architecture
• Hands-on experience with AWS and/or GCP (preferably both), including:
• AWS Lambda
• Cloud Functions
• Cloud Run
• Experience working with Confluent Kafka (Enterprise Streaming Platform).
• Hands-on experience with:
• CI/CD
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Cloud Platforms
• Strong understanding of:
• Agile/Scrum
• DevOps methodologies
• Must have worked as a Technical Lead on at least two Integration Development & Modernization projects.
• Experience leading distributed Onshore-Offshore teams.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Lead hands-on development of APIs, microservices, and event-driven integration solutions.
• Design scalable integration architectures aligned with enterprise standards.
• Conduct code reviews, performance tuning, and enforce API best practices.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to prioritize backlog and support sprint planning.
• Drive Agile delivery using Scrum and DevOps practices.
• Ensure API governance, lifecycle management, and security compliance.
• Mentor offshore development teams and promote cross-functional collaboration.
• Oversee production support, incident management, monitoring, and continuous optimization.

4. Do you have experience working with Microservices Architecture?

Candidates should be able to discuss these during the interview:

• Sprint velocity and delivery throughput.
• Production stability and defect leakage.
• SLA adherence for incidents and service requests.
• Platform scalability and performance improvements.

 

Work Model

• 100% Onsite (Benton Harbor, MI)
• Working Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM EST
• Daily collaboration with offshore delivery teams and business stakeholders.

 

Interview Process

• 2–3 Rounds
• Round 1: One Screening Interview
• Round 2 & 3: End Client Interviews

 

Remote may be considered only for exceptionally strong candidates who meet all technical requirements.
