Java Architect – Workflow Modernization

 

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Java Architect to lead the technical design and delivery of a large-scale workflow modernization initiative, migrating from Pega to Camunda 8 on GCP.

 

Experience

15+ years in Java architecture; 2+ years with Camunda or similar BPMN orchestration platforms

 

Required Skills

- Java 21, Spring Boot, REST/gRPC APIs

- Pega platform knowledge (reverse engineering workflows/rules)

- GCP (GKE/Autopilot, Cloud SQL/PostgreSQL, Cloud Monitoring)

- Testing: JUnit 5, Mockito, integration and contract testing

- Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes

- CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions / Cloud Build)

- Database design and optimization (PostgreSQL)

 

Good to Have

- Agentic AI / LLM integration awareness

- Camunda 8 (Zeebe, BPMN 2.0) – migration experience preferred

- Understanding of React 19 and Node.js for UI integration

- BigQuery, Cloud Storage

- Exposure to n8n

 

Key Responsibilities

- Architect and deliver Java/Spring Boot microservices for business workflow automation

- Define integration patterns with enterprise systems (REST, gRPC, Connectors)

- Establish testing strategy and code quality standards

- Collaborate with business analysts and UI teams (React 19/Node.js)

- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams

- Understanding of AIDLC and how to apply it in the context of workflow automation

- Align and execute the project in Specification Driven Development (SDD) approach
