I am not entirely sure how to explain this, but I just started experimenting with AutoRemote today, and I figured I would copy one of your examples step by step to get a feel for the app.  I copied your first guide on the Quick Start page about having your phone say a phrase based on a variable.  When I send the command to my phone from my PC, it does nothing.  While in the Tasker app, the profile flashes green, showing that it did receive my command and activated the profile, but it is not activating the task "say".  If I put a task in there that doesn't have any AutoRemote related variables (arcomm, arpar, armessage) or "=.=" the task works fine.  Any help would be much appreciated!  I posted all the photos that I feel would be needed.  I am on a rooted Galaxy Note 2 4.1.2 stock rom.

Thanks in advance.

Hi!

Does the task remain green after you receive the message? Or does it go back to white.
Also, have you filled the variable names on the AutoRemote condition? Check if there are values in the variable names.
Also, try putting a popup in the Task just to make sure you see when it eventually runs.

Hope this helps.

Hey!

Thanks for getting back to me, it means a lot!  The task goes back to white after a short time.  How would I go about checking if I have filled the variable names on the AutoRemote condition?  I have got the say command to actually say the word "%arcomm" but it won't use that as a variable and say what I put after the "=.=".  So for example, I send the message "say=.=hey what's up?"  it will respond by saying "%arcomm" (I left the pitch just at 5 so there isn't a variable there which is why I didn't put a number after the "say" command)

Thanks again for the help!

In the AutoRemote condition, there are 3 fields that contain variable names: "Message", "Comm Params Prefix" and "Command". These can be under the "Advanced" option if you're on the latest beta. Check if there's anything there in those fields.

I checked those fields, and yes, they are filled with variables.  "Message" has the variable "armessage" in it, "comms params prefix" has the variable "arpar", and "command" has the variable "arcomm".  The say command still insists on saying "%arcomm" instead of filling that variable with what I sent after "=.="

Ok, what if you do this example? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q4Uu7x6PGYA

Does that work?

I just gave it a shot, and yes, it does work!  Strange how it seems like only the %arcomm variable that isn't working. Any suggestions or ideas as to what this might be?

Ok,  just looked at your original post a little closer... It's =:= and not =.= :-)

Oh my gosh hahaha!  Totally face palmed right there, gave it another shot, and of course, it worked!  Thanks for fixing my stupidity for me :P  Much appreciated, great app!
