Autolocation profile in tasker doesn't trigger and it needs high accuracy location

I have set up 2 geofences, one for work and one for work. I can't get Autolocation or tasker to recognize them unless I set location mode to high accuracy.

I got an S5 with Android 4.4.2 so, I should have network location available even with the wifi turned off (I do usually keep wifi off to conserve battery and I have wifi near profiles that work well) and autolocation should be able to get a fix in Power Saving mode. Unfortunately it doesn't and I have to set location mode to High Accuracy and get outdoors to get a GPS fix, only then the profile triggers and the Autolocation log is updated that tell me the geofence was entered/exited. This makes it very unreliable and raises the question 'why should I use Autolocation and add another layer to Tasker conundrum, why not use Tasker location feature which works well ?'

So what am I doing wrong here ?

Did you try making the geofence larger?  If you are within a building, that is usually what I have to do.  I guess it depends on your phone's and the area you are in to how accurate and low battery consumption.

Thanks Marta.

I googled for this problem before posting here, couldn't find anything. I wondered if it something to do with the Google Location Services, googled on that issue and came up with a result that pointed at one simple fix -> Clear the data & cache of google location services ! I did that and rebooted and now it works just right.

Guess it is about time they changed the way Android works !

if all fails, clear data, & cache,  if that doesn't work re-install.   That seems to fix a lot of the android errors I read about  :-)    LOL!   glad you got it working!!!!!
