I bought AutoLocation a few weeks ago and have yet to get Geofence to be as accurate as Tasker's Network Location?

Tasker Net Location - 100m radius, GPS is NOT on.
AutoLocation Geofence - 100m radius, GPS is NOT on.

I was hoping for a low-power, more accurate/faster, way to detect location than what was already free inside of Tasker.

Is there something I need to tweak to make it more accurate/faster location detection when entering/leaving geofences?

thanks

You can set yourself a minimum displacement in auto location if you are finding yourself jumping in and out of geofences, failing that if you are in a dodgey signal area you will need to unchecked the option to exit geofences when you loose data connection.

Signal is rock solid in a highly populated area...

Tasker's Net Location works perfectly but I wanted to get more accuracy with same/less battery use. Tasker's Net Location triggers has too large a range: 400-1000 feet distance from geofence boarder.  I would like to get it closer to 100 foot... Do I need to be using AutoLocation's Location and not just Geofence?  How will that affect battery life?

thanks

I have a profile that does certain tasks on boot, one of which is specifically starting the geofence and location monitors (this may be unnecessary now due to updates but hey). I have the location monitor running in 'no power' mode which ensures it doesn't use any more juice than you would use anyway when accessing your location. I'd recommend having both running as the geofence monitor doesn't (as far as I'm aware) call location updates for itself.

Just to be sure, do you have WiFi on all the time? Do you have any of Google Now's location based cards enabled?

If you already do then I find it odd that it isn't as good. I find AutoLocation's Geofence monitor to be much more accurate and use much less battery than Tasker's Net location without having to do anything special.

Unfortunately this seems very location dependent. It seems to work very well in certain places and not so well in other places. The problem is that Google itself doesn't go into much technical details about the Geofence service, so I can't really guess why this happens.

That's one of the reasons I created a full-featured 7 day trial: so people can see what works and what doesn't before buying the full app.

Hope you understand.
